Brigadier General Abdullahil Aman Azmi was removed from service on Tuesday, according to high-ranking government sources. However, both the Ministry of Defence and the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) have not confirmed the development.

The exact reason for his dismissal remains unclear. Azmi is the son of the former Jamaat-e-Islami leader, Golam Azam.

Sources also revealed that several other military officials, including lieutenant colonels, majors, and captains, have recently been dismissed from their positions.

In a separate development, the government has promoted two brigadier generals to the rank of major general: Brigadier General Hamid Al Hassan, the Engineering-in-Chief at Army Headquarters, and Brigadier General Md Rafiqul Islam, the Acting Director General of Ansar and VDP.
