The cold in Dhaka will increase starting from January 9.

There has been intense fog and cold weather in Dhaka for the past few days. However, on Saturday, the sun peeked through, and today, the temperature has increased with the appearance of sunlight. The cold intensity will rise again starting from January 9.

This information was shared by meteorologist Abdur Rahman on Sunday, January 5.

He mentioned that the warmth being felt at the end of Poush will continue for the next two to three days. The temperature in Dhaka will increase slightly until January 8. After that, starting from January 9, the temperature will drop, and the cold feeling will intensify again.

Regarding the cold wave, Abdur Rahman stated, “Currently, there is no possibility of a cold wave. After January 9, there might be a possibility of a cold wave in a few places in the country.”

On Saturday, the minimum temperature in Dhaka was 13°C, and by the next morning, it had risen to 15°C.

According to the 24-hour forecast by the Meteorological Department, the weather across the country is expected to be dry with temporary partial cloud cover from 9 AM on Sunday for the next 24 hours. Moderate to dense fog may occur across the country from midnight to morning, which may persist in some places until noon. During this period, both daytime and nighttime temperatures across the country may rise slightly.
