Cristiano Ronaldo is celebrating Christmas in the winter wonderland of Lapland, Finland, with a special family getaway. While many people enjoy the warmth of cozy pyjamas and hot drinks by the fire, Ronaldo opted for a more daring adventure. Despite the freezing -20°C temperatures, he took a plunge into a small pool surrounded by snow. The video he posted on Instagram quickly went viral, racking up 213 million views within just one day.
In the video, Ronaldo, wearing only his swimming trunks, stands in front of the snowy mountains and says, “Guys, look at this experience. Freezing, -20,” while gesturing toward the water. “And now what do I have in front of me? Cold!”
He then slowly climbs down a ladder and immerses himself in the ice-cold water, leaving onlookers and online viewers amazed by his ability to endure such extreme cold.
“Very nice,” he says with enthusiasm after exiting the water, walking barefoot through the snow to head back indoors, seemingly unfazed by the cold. “It’s just a little cold,” he added in his caption.
Fans quickly took to social media to praise Ronaldo’s adventurous spirit and composure:
“Only you can make it look easy,” one fan commented. Another added, “There’s a reason we call him GOAT.”
One amazed viewer wrote, “Ice cold water! How? This is so crazy, love it,” while another said, “I would never do this on a vacation.”
Though his bold plunge was the highlight, Ronaldo’s most recent Instagram post also highlighted the importance of family. The photo, showing his family dressed in matching pyjamas, was captioned: “The most important part of Christmas.”
